In this playlist, I tried to capture that intense feeling of wanting someone. It feels like your heart is on fire, but in a good way. I’m sure we’ve all felt this before.
Genre: Indie Pop, Alternative, Rock, with a sprinkle of alternative psychedelic rock and dark pop.
I love love Lana, I have been following her since her Born To Die (2012) album. This song from the same album, is this playlist’s namesake. The lyrics and melody reflect the feeling of being consumed by desire. If you listen closely during the verses you can hear Lana’s sensual breathing and I think it’s a great touch to this song. This song is sultry and intimate, from the melody to the lyrics, it all ties together perfectly for the first song for this playlist.
Rush – Dutch Melrose, benny mayne
This song is amazing. I love everything about this song, it’s probably my favorite song for this theme. The lyrics, the vocals, the melody, did I mention the lyrics? It’s literally called rush, like the rush you feel when you do it for the first time with someone you have an intense sexual attraction to. At 95bpm, this song perfectly encapsulates burning desire and is a perfect pick for this playlist. The melody is so seductive and the lyrics describe that “Rush” feeling so flawlessly. Definitely a song to add to your spicy playlist.
I Wanna Be Yours – Arctic Monkeys
Who doesn’t love a bit of AM? This song is a bit of a switch up from the last one. This I feel leads towards more of a romantic desire. He is wanting to be closer to his lover and be fully immersed in her life, even if its a coffee pot, oh he is down bad.. At an even lower bpm of 68, it’s like romantic surrender written in a letter format, it’s perfect for this playlist.
